May the music from an angel harp lift your spirit and touch your soul
— Tom Baker, aka The Foundering Man

Innovative Harpist

Zanna Evans began playing piano from the age of four but her passion for the harp was sparked whilst watching a harp competition at the age of nine.

She went on to study under Julia Mackinder and Margaret Knight and was a member of Harrow Music School for 8 years. For four of those years she was principal harpist with their Philharmonic orchestra.

Whilst studying at Durham University Zanna was principal harpist for the Chamber and Symphony Orchestras from 2000-2003. Highlights included performing 'Britten's Ceremony of Carols by Candlelight' and Faure's Requiem in Durham Cathedral.

Since 2004 Zanna has been freelancing, performing with various orchestras and choral societies as well as at weddings across the UK. She has played in a variety of venues including  The Royal Albert Hall, Royal Festival Hall, The Cobden Club and The Troubador.

Zanna is passionate about exploring the versatility of the harp and has a desire to work with other genres and artists creating innovative sounds.

Its been an exciting few years discovering ways to improvise and be part of a band. This new adventure has provided opportunities to take masterclasses with some of the leading harpists in this field including Park Strickney, Monica Stadler and Deborah Henson Conant.
